Fwd: US-UK Collaborative Development Awards: call for proposals and application

Dear all

The British Embassy and British Consulates in the US are pleased to accept applications for the 2012 UK-US Collaboration Development Award (CDA) Programme.  These awards provide funding so that UK and US scientists, engineers, academic leaders and innovation experts can travel abroad for short visits to lay the groundwork for collaborative efforts. This programme is sponsored by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) and Foreign & Commonwealth Office's (FCO) Global Partnership Fund and is administered through the UK's Science & Innovation (S&I) Network based in the US.

The UK-US CDA Programme aims to develop relationships initiated through our networking activities into long-term collaborations.  Applications for the current round are open to academic and industrial science and innovation experts in the UK and US who have connected to international counterparts through projects and other interactions with the S&I Network.  Ideal outcomes include joint publications; joint or complementary funding applications; student / researcher exchange programmes; sharing of equipment, materials and facilities; knowledge exchange of skills and techniques;  institutional linkages; technology transfer; and industry sponsorship.  Please do not be limited by these ideas - we strongly encourage the development of innovative models for collaboration.  Please forward to contacts and colleagues who might be interested. Please also feel free to contact me with any ideas outside of this opportunity that could encourage US-UK collaboration.
